The Open Source hosting industry is constantly evolving. We are looking for someone that is both curious as well as able to pick up new technology quickly. You will be supporting our customers with technical challenges and questions, which means you will also dive deeply into our systems architecture and product landscape. And because our platform is geared towards developers, you'll get to collaborate with coders and engineers from across the world on a daily basis.

amazee.io provides an Open Source Container Hosting Platform as a Service to clients worldwide. We excel in offering outstanding support and a local container-based development environment congruent to production servers, supporting production deployment to any server in any data center in the world.

Our hosting environment is based on Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift, operates in multiple locations all over the world, is completely open source, and currently serves over 500 million hits per month. We are constantly updating and improving the platform and need bright minds who are interested in helping us scale to build the world's best and fastest hosting environment.

  • Client on-boarding and training

  • Provide outstanding support to our clients via chat and E-Mail

  • Go the extra mile for our customers - be proactive and in contact with our customers


Growth opportunities

As we understand that you'll start out as a junior, we will focus on training you and give you the room to grow your skillset in areas such as:

  • Helping us ensure the stability of our hosting environment

  • Design, architect, and implement continuous integration & development pipelines together with our enterprise customers

  • Specify, implement, document, and roll out features & updates

  • Support tech teams by implementing, following and advocating DevOps principles

  • Share the responsibility for off-hours “on-call” duty
     

Requirements:

  • You prefer to work during standard office hours in AU/NZ (UTC+10 to UTC+12)

  • You have 1+ years of industry experience or less if you feel you already know your way around systems

  • You have some experience with Linux, Nginx, Varnish, MariaDB/MySQL

  • You have some experience of Drupal and PHP

  • You like talking to clients and providing training to technical client personnel excites you

  • You communicate effectively via cat gifs and emojis 🐱

  • You have some experience with Docker & Kubernetes

  • You have basic knowledge of Mac OS X, Windows

  • You are able to self-organize, work independently, but also work as part of a globally distributed team

  • Ability to analyze problems and keep calm and focused during outages (don’t worry you won’t be alone in this - we pull in the team in those situations)

  • Very good at reading, writing, and communicating in English
     

Bonus Points:

If you have any exposure to the following points we consider this as a bonus. If you don’t tick a box, apply anyways - There will be room to learn and grow into new technologies and processes.

  • Experience with or are familiar with agile project methodologies and principles

  • Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift

  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform

  • Experience with server security and system hardening

  • Experience with Ansible, Node.js, or Golang

  • Experience with performance optimization and load testing

  • You like to extend your knowledge by attending conferences and meetups
